This is a gift of drawing from another friend – a candle. This is one of the most meaningful gifts that I have received. It is a monochrome drawing of a lighted candle. It is very neat, beautiful and unique.
Two years ago, I resigned from my company in Malaysia. I was excited with my new journey in a different country. I thought I will be very happy when I quit my job, but unexpectedly I am also a bit sad. I miss my ex colleagues and friends in my old company. On the last day of my work, one of my friends gave me the drawing.
A few words written behind the drawing:
“Wish you have a brighter future”
I value the drawing very much. I am very lucky to receive it. Now I put the drawing on the table of my house and I see it everyday. Sometimes it gives me motivation and inspiration as it reminds me to have a brighter future. Sometimes I look at the drawing and question myself: will I really have a brighter future?
This black-and-white drawing reflects my wishes. Sometimes, I really hope there is a ‘candle’ right in front of me, lighting me all the way up whenever I am confused and down.
Although I seldom contact with my ex colleagues and friends nowadays, the memory with them in Malaysia will always be precious memories in my life. 🙂
