Our First Week in Hong Kong

Ben usually finish work at 6.30pm, so I meet him at IFC mall once he finishes work.

On the first night we went to the roof garden at IFC – from here we can see the Symphony of Lights as well as the night view of the Hong Kong city. Not too much to see though.

Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀)

In our first weekend in Hong Kong, we went for a walk in Tsim Sha Tsui (尖沙咀). We had lunch at Kung Fu Dim Sum Restaurant – the dim sum is not bad and we think the price is reasonable (HKD$175).

The popular clock tower in Tsim Sha Tsui – I will come here again because I booked a free walking tour on this coming Friday and the starting point is here.

The Avenue of Stars is closed temporarily, and the famous Bruce Lee Statue was moved to the Garden of Stars!

We also went to Harbour City (港城), the largest shopping mall in Hong Kong with over 700 shops. I think it is nothing too special, just a shopping mall.

We took a ferry back to Central.

Central (中环)

I always confused between Central Station (中环站) and Hong Kong Station (香港站). They are the different station.

Anyway, the Central is always busy. We want to take the Ferris Wheel in the future.

Meeting my friend

I met my friend at Dragon City Café in Kwun Tong (观塘). Then we went to Wong Tai Sin Temple (黄大仙庙).

A surprise is that my friend’s company is under the headquarter of Wong Tai Sin Temple so she has some special passes that allow us to skip the queue + visit the inner temples that only very few people can access. I also asked for a fortune-telling for my love and life (now you can even do it from the machine, but I did the traditional one 求签).

My friend was very nice to me – she brought me to many places, including the places where locals go shopping (definitely not in the famous Tung Choi Street女人街 that is designed for tourists 😝). I was excited to see so many varieties of clothing in Hong Kong and I will find a day to shop for a full day. 🙂

HK17 Ben with minion

Oh yes, Ben didn’t come with us today. He needs a good rest after working for a week (after so many hours of flight without taking a rest) and he is still having jet lag. Poor him. A photo of Ben with the minion. 🙂
