I have a very nice colleague.
I am a finance person and know nothing about managing a project. A colleague of mine introduced the world of project management to me. He triggered my interest on the project. He lent me the book of project management.
It took me about 2 months to finish the book. He explained to me patiently when I asked a lot of stupid questions. He is an expert in this area and shares the experience with me generously. When I returned the book to him, he even asked me to photocopy some of the important pages.
There were many times that I was lost in the meeting (as I always did), he explained to me afterward and gave me more information that I originally asked. He also gave me his opinion so I was able to do the job better.
I am a very quiet person and sitting at the most isolated part of the office. Well, this suits my personality. I am very grateful for anyone who has helped me. In Chinese, this kind of person is important as they have a positive impact to our life.
It is a good opportunity for me to learn more about project management since I am working for a very big project in New Zealand at the moment. It is good to explore area other than Finance when I am still young. So I have enrolled to some project education course.
However, I am getting a bit slack recently. There were many times that I nearly rolled off the project but I decided to stay for some reasons. Many things happened and I am trying to catch up as fast as I can.
