Rotorua is one of my favourite places in New Zealand. The Redwood Forest (also known as Whakarewarewa Forest) is about 5km from Rotorua town. We visited Redwood Forest today before we head back to Wellington.

I like Redwood Forest very much. The red colour trees are tall and strong, they are such a beautiful living creäture in the world! The lovely view and the fresh air are relaxing which bring us closer to the nature. This peaceful forest is a contrast to the busy city. It is a very good idea to walk the track or picnic in this place.

Quiz time! Guess how many people hiding behind the trees?

We spent about 20 minutes just to take photos with this particular tree. This is a very big and strong tree which makes it outstanding.

There is a famous Chinese proverb saying that “Do not give up the entire forest for a single tree”. It means not to give up all the other opportunities just because you are interested on a particular thing or person. But for me, I can forgo a forest for a unique tree. What is the point of having so many trees if you already found happiness in one tree? However I do agree that sometimes we need to learn to give up on a particular thing if it does not bring happiness to us.

I would definitely recommend Redwood forest to my friends. It is a nice place to visit. This is the second time I came to Redwood Forest. I had a good memory in my first visit as well! I just dig back my photo taken in Roturua two years ago:

Time flies. I noticed that I come to Rotorua every year winter since 2012. It is really a nice place to visit. 🙂
