Rimutaka Forest Park – Two Roads

I have no time to update my blog recently as I am very busy at work. I am going for a 3 week vacation soon, and I need to finish a lot of works before I go away.

Walking in the forest gives me some relief. Blue sky, green forest, fresh air… New Zealand is an amazing country! 🙂

There are two roads here. This reminds me of the poem “The Road Not Taken” written by Robert Frost, which I studied during my secondary school. To be honest, I was a very lazy student and always sleeping in the class (not a good student!), I have forgotten all the poems that I have studied but this is the exception. This poem has impressed me a lot.

If there are two roads in your life – a well paved road and a less well-known road, which one will you choose?

I would definitely choose the one with the best scenery! 🙂

 

The Road Not Taken (By Robert Frost)
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
