Time has flown by so quickly this year. Before I knew it, another year had come to an end.
And now, I am reflecting on all the little things that happened this year.
Earlier this year, a friend from Malaysia came to visit me in Melbourne for a few days. We visited Brighton beach boxes, Yarra Valley and the city.

This year, I fell in love with Labubu. I bought my first labubu in February, and now we have nine. The trend may have faded, but we had such a good time with them… so who cares?
I think we will stop buying for now, as we have had enough – unless a really cute one comes out then there’s no choice. 😆

Labubus and panettone. Ben bought a mini labubu blind box for me from Sydney and it turned out to be my favourite pink 😍
We watched Les Miserables show at Rod Laver Arena. Ben loved this kind of musical show and he was so excited.

I finally decided to run a full marathon next year. It’s always been on my bucket list to complete one and getting a finisher T-shirt, and I really hope to accomplish it before turning 40.
Registering so early comes with some risk as I might not be able to run at that time, but at least I have taken the first step!
To show my determination, I have already spent more than a thousand dollars: about $400 on two running events, $580 on a new smartwatch (my old one’s battery wouldn’t even last through a half marathon), and two pairs of running shoes bought during sales.

In terms of work, there has been some restructuring and I have moved team. There are a lot of uncertainties, but change happens all the time… as long as I work hard and do my best, that’s what matters.
Sometimes, Ben and I would go nearby for relaxing walks and visit nice cafes. I really enjoyed those moments.

We took free public transport into the city on one weekend
Ben cooked a lot this year, especially Italian food. Most of the meals were made with very good quality ingredients, and with so much love and effort.
Sometimes the dishes looked like pieces of art, and I couldn’t be prouder. I do worry about how I’ll survive on my own one day as I have been spoiled by such good food.

Looking back at my 2025, it honestly feels like a quiet year where not much happened. No travel, no dance classes, and minimal running.
But sometimes, it is not about what did happen, but rather what didn’t: no sickness, no sadness, no major struggles. For that, I am extremely grateful and have truly appreciated the simplicity and peacefulness.
Perhaps, this was a year of recharge for me.
And while I enjoyed the comfort of being at home, there were moments when I hoped for more experiences – a contradiction, isn’t it?

This is already my 7th year in Australia, yet I feel like I haven’t explored the country enough. I often think back to the moment I left home for New Zealand more than 10 years ago.
Making such a big, life-changing decision again would be difficult, but perhaps I can still choose to create more small memories to write about. Otherwise, time feels like it passes too quickly. Maybe, deep down, there is a quiet anxiety in my heart.
I want to cherish the present moment, and also have something to look back on when I grow older.
