CAFFE L’AFFARE, Wellington

The weather is very beautiful today. I was planning to stay at home for the day but I felt guilty for not going out in this lovely weather. So I went out for a short walk.

I walked into this café – the place where I met my boyfriend on 24 May 2015. I bought a coffee because I wanted to recall the memories at this important café.

It was a brunch with a Meetup group. I am an antisocial person so I do not usually join social event (in which I am still trying to overcome). But this event was special because a person who has read my blog organized it. It is the first person who has written a long email to me after reading my blog. I really appreciate anyone who has spent time to read my words.

The person asked me for a meet up. My colleague suggested me to invite him to the free movie event organized by my company. At first I was a bit reluctant because I was timid. I used to live in my own world and sometimes I forgot how to interact with people. Eventually I invited him, and it was a big step for me. I wanted to meet new friends. At that movie night, he asked me for a brunch in the Meetup group organized by him on the coming weekend.

There are too many reasons for not joining the brunch on Sunday, 24 May 2015: (1) I had a meeting with my boss and team, (2) it was too early, (3) I was lazy and tired, (4) I was a coward. And so I nearly missed him (my boyfriend) – a person whom I met in the brunch. I still do not know why I decided to come to the brunch in the end, as I had no idea on its importance to my life at that point of time.

It was quite a big Meetup group with more than 10 people. My friend was doing a great job for organizing this event.

Suddenly, someone caught my eye because he was very late. He was sitting next to me and sweating. 😛

“Hello, I am CY.” We talked. He took off his jacket. I had a delicious egg Benedict and he just had a coffee. I feel like it was yesterday, as the scene is still vivid in my memory.

At that time, I didn’t know that he will come into my life.

If I didn’t come to New Zealand and created this blog, I would not have met him. Then my life would be completely different again. Life is very unpredictable; but sometimes we just have to follow our heart and be brave enough to accept it.

It was my first Meetup event and I had never expected to meet someone important in such a short event. Perhaps we need to be more outgoing because we do not know what have been arranged in our life.

Okay. Too many words. It is a bit difficult to concentrate on writing again because this cafe is too cute! Actually it is not the same café location where I met my boyfriend; it is just another branch in the suburb. There are many toys and kids in this location.
