I am always trying to plan as much as possible. Yet, there is no ‘perfect’ plan in the world and everything moves fast.
3 years ago, I came to New Zealand to travel. Unexpectedly, I received the opportunity to work in this country permanently and I took the offer immediately: my story on the first day of work. Well, you can’t plan everything ahead right? So I chose to go with the flow.
When the opportunity comes, please grab it fast as it might disappear in the next second.
I planned the trip to Cambodia and didn’t make it. Twice. The first time I burnt my flight ticket was because I wanted to work in New Zealand. And, now I am going to burn the second flight ticket because I have decided to stay. 🙂
I recalled a movie that I watched a long time ago “The Devil Wears Prada”. The girl was a workaholic; she is smart and competent. She had a huge achievement in career but sacrificed her relationship, in the end she realized that she always has the choice.
“You have the choice.”
I still feel planning is somewhat important, but in the end you make the call.
The more you have in your life, the more you are reluctant to let go. When I was a backpacker, I was very ‘flexible’ and had no fear to lose anything. Now I keep thinking about my future. I am a very prudent person; but I don’t like to be too prudent. I have some exciting plans coming on in next year! 🙂 I hope I am not too capricious.
Plan change again! Well, I never expect it to stay the same.
