Finally!! Passed my car driving test!!

Today is a happy day, as I finally passed my driving test after three failed attempts!

Reason of the first failure: made too many mistakes – did not use side mirror, did not give ways, did not do headchecks, etc…

 

Reason of the second failure: made only one mistake – did not stop completely at the junction controlled by a ‘Stop’ sign. The examiner said that I did a ‘rolling stop’ in one of the junctions (though I did stop completely in all other similar junctions). If I never made the mistake in that particular junction, I would have passed the test. It is an immediate failure error.

 

Reason of the third failure: did not indicate left signal when exiting the roundabout. Actually I always indicate left signal when I exit roundabout, but I did not do so in that particular roundabout because it was very small (so I don’t think it looks like a roundabout). Also, the examiner said that I did not look at side mirror frequently – I am a bit fed up because I look at the car mirror almost every few seconds, so I am not sure what he wants.

 

Every failure is a pain, because I have to wait for few weeks before I can sit for the test again. Also, it is not cheap to re-sit a test. I even took a private driving lesson after my first failure. I think I performed quite well in the second and third test, so it is very frustrating that I still failed the test.

I didn’t expect that I could pass the test today – because I am exhausted since I worked till late night these few days. It is the peak period of my work (as I am usually busy in the beginning of the month for month end closing, and very busy during quarter end closing). I worked more than 10 hours per day this week, so my brain can hardly function. I need a rest for my body and my soul.

 

During the test today, the examiner said that I should clean the windscreen of my car. Well, I admit my car is quite dirty and I feel a bit embarrassed. >.<

It is not easy to get a driving license in New Zealand. I have 7-8 years driving experience in Malaysia yet I still failed the test for 3 times. Finally… I got my license!! Yeah~ 😀
