Today is the first day of October; it is month end closing again. I was very sleepy and lazy to work because I was lack of sleep. Still, I jumped out of bed as I need to attend an early meeting.
The meeting was scheduled at 9am; I left my home before 8am although it takes only 20 minutes to drive to office. This is because I need some ‘contingency’ time to allow for bad traffic and so on. I grabbed a sandwich and I was on time for this serious meeting.
“I don’t believe unlucky.” He repeated a few times in a grumpy voice.
Hmm… What to say… I was stressful but I couldn’t agree more.
I think this is not only related to work, but in many aspects of life.
If I was late for the meeting today because of the bad traffic, should I said that I am unlucky? Instead of blaming the unlucky events, why don’t we make lucky events happen?
Some people are always lucky. And it is not necessary a coincidence. For example, many people said that I am lucky to have a job in New Zealand (sorry I am using this example again! Can’t think of other example as my brain is running slow today 😛 ), but it happens because I left my home and come to New Zealand. Though I might not be able to find a job once I left, I definitely will not be able to find it if I didn’t leave.
Many things happen for some reasons isn’t it?
I saw beautiful lupine flowers in Lake Tekapo. This is because I visited the place in the summer.
I received good feedback from others. This is because I tried hard though I need to pay more effort.
I found someone who I really like. This is because I am brave enough to accept despite the uncertainty.
Sometimes, luck is associated with hard work and risk.
But of course, there is always an exception. Sometimes, things happen without a reason, just like we fall in love with someone for no reasons.
