Root Canal

I was suffered from extreme pain on my tooth last week. I have not experienced this kind of pain before. I couldn’t fall in sleep or eat much, and I wasn’t able to concentrate on my work. The pain was killing me.

So I went to dental centre. The dentist advised that I need to do a root canal treatment because the nerves are dying on that tooth. I was referred to a root canal specialist because it is a molar tooth and not advisable to be done by normal registered dentist .

It is super expensive – NZD$2,150 just for one tooth! But I still want to do it because I do not want to extract my tooth out, as I am very concerned of the beauty.

I decided to take the root canal treatment immediately. Someone said that I should get more opinion before deciding to do the treatment, but I am lazy and I want to trust the person. Also, the earlier you do root canal the higher success rate you have. The specialist said I have a 96% of success rate if I do it now. I hope it will be fine.

I have completed the Stage 1 of Root Canal. The specialist said that my nerves are all dead when he opened my tooth.

He analysed the reason on why my nerves were dead. A very possible reason is that the filling on that tooth was dropped out for a few times before. Although my dentist in Malaysia helped me to do the filling for free (because it dropped out), it kills the nerves on that tooth as the bacteria came in.

I would rather pay more if the quality of the service is good, so that I don’t have to worry about it in the future which might cost more money.

I have spent a lot of money on my teeth in my life. I wore braces (even when my teeth are straight) to protect my teeth as recommended by the dentist. I couldn’t count the number of times that I did the teeth cleaning and fillings. Now I did the root canal treatment. The money that I spent for my teeth is equivalent to a good second hand car in Malaysia (at least RM15k).

I want to take care of my teeth as much as possible, because it is very important for beauty and I am tired of spending so much money on my teeth!
