This is my first running event in Melbourne – and is also my first one since Covid.
I was torn between 10km and 21km; I am not ready for 21km since I have not been practicing hard enough, but I also felt it was too expensive to pay AUD$80 for a 10km run (not including T-shirt). In the end I registered for the 10km, as I am keen to gain my running momentum back. Training is good, but running in an event is a fun and unique experience that will encourage me to keep going.
As this is my first time in the Run Melbourne event I was not sure of the starting point. When I got off at Flinders Street station, I saw a guy wearing the bib so I followed him, and I did not realise another two women were following me as well. If he was wrong then we were all doomed ๐ luckily it was fine.
The weather was sunny at about 10 degree celsius in the morning which was perfect for running. I probably should not wear the jacket as I got warm up very fast.
My official time is 01:10:28 and I am happy about it as I thought I would take 80 minutes. I am hoping to join more running events in the near future ๐
