My friend visited Wellington for a few days and so I planned a tour in Wellington. What can you do in Wellington apart from visiting the famous Te Papa museum, shopping in Lambton Quay, and taking cable car to Botanic Garden? Well, there are actually a lot of things that you can do in Wellington (provided if you have transportation).
Here are things that we did during my friend’s visit:
Blueberry picking
We went to Bluebank Blueberry and Emu Farm in Akatarawa Road. Picking blueberries are fun, and we are a little bit greedy! It is recommended that you check the availability in this website before you go to there: http://www.bluebank.co.nz/
Tips: always go early! You will pick the best blueberry. We are the first customer of the day. 😛
Farm stay
Wellington is a city, but you can escape from city life temporarily by going to a farm. We visited Woodhigh Forest Farmstay. Riding a quad bike, feeding animals, shooting a gun… it is adventurous yet relaxing at the same time. 🙂
My friend’s shooting skill is better than me!!
Horse riding
I love horse riding, as it is exciting! I had a few blog posts about horse riding in the past:

My Japanese friend commented horse riding experience in New Zealand is “wild and dynamic”. I totally agree. I love horse riding at Wainuiomata because their riding style is thrilling. But once you tried it, you will want to do it again. 🙂
Horses are sleepy!
Cooking a big meal
New Zealand’s seafood is excellent. We had cooked a few big meals and it is a lot of fun.
Mussels are the best if you bought the fresh mussel and just boil them.
Snapper and salmon fishes are delicious sashimi!
Cheese and salami are super tasty!
New Zealand wines are great.
My friend also made sushi for me and it is the best sushi that I have had. 🙂
There are more things to do in Wellington. I am living in Wellington so I want to be a good tour guide in Wellington. 😛 I am planning to write a proper blog post about this subject! 🙂
