Fairness or Forgiveness

The weather is terrible in Wellington on these few days. The southerly wind is so strong and blow people away! I heard that there is a guy being blown away by the strong wind (I don’t know the exact story), and my colleagues say that I should be escorted when I go out because they are worrying me that I will be blown away. =.=

We can ‘see’ the wind! Also it is hailing! But it is not so obvious in the video above.

At night I went for a dinner with my friend. It is a new shop nearby my house selling takeaway Chinese and Western foods. Once we went into the shop, a customer is scolding the staff because the food had not yet arrived after waiting for half an hour. Her husband was also angry and requested the staff to offer them a half price.

I understand their frustration as it is not fair for them. If same thing happen on me, I might be disappointed too and I will never go back to the same shop again, but I will not scold the staff like what they did. Because for me, I think ‘being considerate’ is more important than ‘being fair’. We are all human, why give each other a hard time? Please be lenient whenever it is possible. It is not really a big deal after all.

Forgiveness is not an easy task, but it is the only way to set you free. You are the person who will be suffering if you get angry. Try the best to forgive others when they did something not favourable to you, as it means to forgive yourself too!
