4D3N in Las Vegas

We enjoyed Las Vegas very much… much more than we initially expected. Before we arrived here, we thought Las Vegas was all about casino, shopping, nightlife, stripping – which we are not very interested anyway.

But that is not true. Las Vegas is a fun, lively and exciting destination. It has everything that makes you happy, and everything goes big (literally). Las Vegas brought us a lot of joy during our honeymoon trip.

Everything goes big and exaggerated

The buildings in Las Vegas are massive. They look so close but are actually very far away (because they are so big). For example, some of them look like only a 2-3 minute walk but eventually takes closer to 20 minutes. This makes us love Las Vegas – we like its exaggeration and lavish feel.

There are also a lot of famous ‘attractions’, such as Trevi Fountain, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and many more. They look very real and has much smaller crowds than the real one. It is fascinating that we are able to visit ‘the world’ here. 🙂

‘Trevi Fountain’ – I could never get this kind of close-up photo in Rome because it was too crowded

Different experiences

There is something called Timeshare in Las Vegas. When we first arrived in our hotel, Las Vegas Circus Circus Hotel & Casino, someone immediately approached us and offered us to listen to a 90-minute timeshare presentation in exchange for free gifts, i.e. show tickets and dinner. We said we need to think about it and then we did some research online, then we found that many people complained about timeshare (here is one of the stories). We are lucky that we did not agree to it or otherwise it might ruin our holiday. Remember there is no free lunch in the world!

Though we did not get a free show ticket, we bought one ourselves as we went for the Fantasy show at Luxor. It was our most unique experience in Las Vegas…

Hmmm…

Las Vegas is full of pornographic material. Whenever I was not with Ben on the street, someone will hand him a ‘porn card’/brochure with beautiful girls and contact numbers. 😠

We also went for the virtual reality experience. We got 2 rides per person for $20. We chose the northern light ride as well as roller coaster ride and Ben screamed.

Good food

Though we are not a big fan of gambling, we love having buffets in a casino. They are usually not expensive (as they want to attract gamblers to stay), and the food quality is not bad.

We also love chocolate so we visited Hershey’s and M&Ms.

In summary

We only stayed for 3 days in Las Vegas as we never thought we would enjoy it so much. In hindsight, we do not mind staying longer here because it was so much fun. There is so much to see and do here.

We did not visit Grand Canyon this time because it was too rushed. Maybe this is something we can do next time. We wish to visit Las Vegas again. 🙂
