I have not visited Malaysia for 3 years due to COVID. This means I have not seen my family and friends in KL for 3 years which is the longest period of my life. Finally, the border has re-opened and I have decided to spend 3 weeks in Malaysia for a long overdue holiday.
On the second day of my arrival, I had a luxurious meal with my family at Oriental Star Restaurant. It all started because my mum said she never had ‘Buddha Jumps Over the Wall’, and then my sister looked for a restaurant with this dish. This is also a Chinese New Year meal for me as I reached KL on the last day of CNY.
4D3N Family Trip to Penang
My sister planned a trip to Batu Ferringhi, Penang. We stayed at Hard Rock Hotel for three nights. It was a nice hotel and we were really in love with the huge balcony with a beautiful view!
My sister organised everything so I just sat back and relaxed 🙂
Meeting up with friends
I was happy to see my friends, no matter how many years have passed.
I have also managed to take a 2-hour course to learn latte art at Aurelia Atelier Cafe, which is something that I wanted to learn for a long time.
This is a busy trip; three weeks is simply not enough after such a long time and I was not able to meet everyone. COVID has changed everything – I even missed my best friend’s wedding because of it. I hope I can come back more often now that everything seems under control.
To be honest, I was exhausted from my work over the last few months and I was not in the mood to travel and write… But this trip re-ignites my passion for travelling. Perhaps I should start taking baby steps to travel again and keep writing!
