4D3N in Singapore

I spent around three weeks in Kuala Lumpur before flying to Singapore to visit my in-laws. We met at Changi Airport, had a long-awaited lunch, and I stayed in Singapore for four nights before returning to Melbourne. Ben and I had some new experiences together in this trip.

Cycling at East coast park

Ben drove me to East Coast Park, a popular coastal recreational area stretching over 15 kilometers along the southeastern coast. It is a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike, providing a scenic escape from the urban hustle.

We rented bicycles for a couple of hours. Due to the hot weather and our limited cycling skills, we did not venture too far. Along the way, we spotted some squirrels 🐿️. It was a great exercise for us after eating too much for the past few weeks!

Walking around the city centre

We met up with our own friends and then we met each other in the city centre. Ben took me to popular landmarks and helped me to understand the history of Singapore, including Raffles place.

Raffles founded modern Singapore in 1819, and he turned a fishing village into a thriving port by promoting free trade and attracting immigrants, shaping Singapore’s growth into a major trading hub. Without him, Singapore will not be the same.

One of the most exciting parts about this trip is food. As a Malaysian and Singaporean, we always debate about which country has better food. Ben took me to various places and I enjoyed trying different dishes.

I especially like the chicken chop – even though it is marketed Western-style, they can only be found in Singapore or Malaysia. We were also lucky to have the chicken claypot rice on the shop’s final day before closing down.

Our first time flying Business class together

We used our Qantas frequent flyer points to claim a business class flight. This is our first time flying business class together, though Ben enjoyed it solo on a few occasions. We were very excited and had been looking forward to it very much!

As it was a nighttime flight, we received pyjamas and I also like the ability to lie flat adding to our comfort. Though I did not get much sleep in the end, the overall experience was enjoyable and cozy.

Hope we will have more new experiences together. 😊
